Cytotron treatment- 18th day

We completed 18 days of the cytotron treatment today. So far there have been no improvement noticed. Norman's speech remain poor. He still could not speak a full sentence clearly. It is so frustrating sometimes. His right hand and leg is still weak and uncoordinated.

We have seen Dr Ibrahim at wijaya medical center and he suggested chemotherapy. However the MGMT report is not favourable for him to go back on Temodar and he might need other newer chemo drugs. I dread these awful drugs and its side effects! We feel that it is too toxic and too damaging and is hesitating to start on it. Dr Ibrahim does not agree on the cytotron treatment and suggest we stop it. Sob! What can we do now? Any suggestions? I am at my wit end!

Dorothy.

I've been treating many patients of GBM IV, with varying degrees of severity and presenting features, using Cytotron since 2007.

Please continue the therapy for the remaining 10 days. He needs evaluation whether the edema needs to be managed more actively with increased dose of dexamethasone or with mannitol infusion.

In India we have patients who have recovered even from neurological deficits with complete stoppage of tumor activity for well over 4 years.

Do complete the treatment, re-evaluate on the tumor size and edema and be prepared to repeat the course after a break of minimum 14 days depending on the findings.

I'm currently treating a 5 year old girl with a recurrent Anaplastic Ependymoma of the 4th ventricle. She has had 3 surgeries, RT and 12 cycles of chemo since 2007 as well as Cyberknife 2 months back. The tumor has recurred again and again.
Cytotron therapy has resulted in reducing the tumor size. She is being treated with a third cycle of Cytotron now. She is asymptomatic.
So please be reassured that the therapy will definitely improve the situation. Manage other symptoms with appropriate management.

All the best.

We are using Cytotron at Sibia Medical Centre, Ludhiana and agree with Dr Nayar to continue Cytotron. Use any other treatment suggested along with Cytotron if advised. Wishing good health. Dr. Sibia
